Day’s Theme:
Head east hard!

Weather/Terrain:
Another perfect riding day – a little warmer, upper 80s, and sunny with moderate breezes all day.  A moderate 3 mile climb today at mile 70  Then, a nice downhill and fast finish into Wendover.  Wendover is a town that is in both Nevada and Utah, and is very busy!

How I feel:
Still very good.  The rocket and I had two flats each today, so, we lost some time.  But we rode the last 10 quite fast, and got in in good condition!

What’s Happening:

More beautiful desert mountains in Nevada.

Day by day as we are heading east, we see a bit more vegetation, including a few tress that somehow snuck through the state line border patrol and grew in Nevada!

A little information for you all – any US Interstate highway cannot have a grade > 7 %.  Out here in Nevada, we have ridden a few stretches on long climbs…..

Today’s ride took us to about 7000 feet, and it was pretty and rugged up here.  Just like us CCC Riders – pretty, and rugged!  HA!!

Those little black things are cows.  Yes, cows at about 6800 feet.  Freaks!

Well, the benefit of climbing is you get to descend – we had a nice 20 mile descend today!!

Sag Stop @ today was at Ernie’s.

Ernie attempted this ride 17 years ago without Gatorade, sunscreen, butt cream, and chain lube.

Ernie is no longer with us.

A few riders stopping their cadence for a photo.

Dr. Dave and Andrew from the UK.

The long, descending road to Wendover.

It was much warmer in Wendover than on the road.
