Day’s Theme:
Scenic, rough road ride with great scenery!

Weather/Terrain:
I don’t really know what day it is, or the actual temperature, but it was probably 100 at times today.  At times we encountered some VERY strong head winds, and less frequently, tail winds.
We travelled most of the day along Route 6 and climbed to Soldier Summit and through Price Canyon.  Beautiful scenery in Utah!!
The road surface today was scary – rubble strips, loose gravel/asphalt, very thin.  Scary………………………….

How I feel:
I continue to feel well – thank God!  All is good.  I am ready for those Rocky Mountains!!

Notable Events:
Prairie Dogs at our only SAG Stop today – I was laying on the ground trying to take their pictures, and they just ran right up to my face.  Must have been my good looks??
These areas, including Price, have lots to do with the dinosaur finds in Utah.

What’s Happening:

Soon after leaving Provo, we headed into a mountain pass, climbing into a fierce headwind.
Utah is impressive.
We stumbled upon this ranch with horses and mountains!!

At our only Sag today, there were a dozen of these guys just buzzing around like they had lots of coffee!!

At the SAG, Robert was greeted by some fans from France and Canada.
They fed him, he held the children, and then returned to his mission – to bicycle across America!

We travelled along Route 6 most of the day today.
There was beautiful mountains and green scenery everywhere.

As beautiful as the scenery was, today’s road surface was probably our worst.
White line, four inches of asphalt, violent rubble strips, (maybe) four inches of asphalt, then loose gravel sometimes falling off the mountain.
Everyone had to be very careful of the road today, and had to ride slow and cautiously.  Everyone did thankfully.
Those rubble strips are brutal – if you fall into them, you are reminded of how many testicles and ass cheats you have  L .

We climbed over 3000 feet today, to the top of Soldier Summit.
I feel well – bring those goofy Rocky Mountains on!!

From the summit, we had all descend for the rest of the day, but more often then not, such a head wind we had to pedal!  NOT what the High Fat Diet Society recommends!
From the summit we descended into Price Canyon – spectacular natural area.

The road through Price Canyon included some great rock formations.

This is another view of the rock formation above.
Awesome, huh?

Butch Cassidy, like myself, has passed this way before.
