Day’s Theme:
This is vErie nice!! :-)
Weather/Terrain:
Believe it or not, yet another perfect riding day. 80, overcast, mild humidity, and calm/no winds along nice roads near Lake Erie.
How I’m/we’re feeling:
All is well with all. The “CCC Virus” is still threatening some folks, but, everyone is hanging in there!
Notable Events:
The Daniel Reed Memorial Pier – a beautiful place which reminded me of my little buddy – and all my little friends!!
Rider Profile: Wayne Hoover, 56, from Lexington, KY.

Originally from Evansville, IN, Wayne now resides in Lexington with his wife Karen and 2 grown children Chase, and Chance. Wayne owns his own custom kitchen cabinet business.
This is Wayne’s first bike tour, and he decided to do it to support his efforts for The Dr. Larry Turner Foundation – a foundation/scholarship to promote agricultural education and programs. Read more about The Dr. Larry Turner Foundation and Wayne @

What’s Happening:

Last evening on our rest day, many of us went over to see a AA Ball Game – the Erie Seawolves versus the Reading Phillies.
This game was brilliant even before it started, because all fans were lucky enough to hear our National Anthem performed by a beautiful young girl named Morgan, 9 years old, from Erie.
Well, The Rocket and I were especially lucky, as, not sitting in our assigned seats (The Rocket has disciplinary problems….), she came and sat right in front of us with her sister, mom, and dad! We had a nice talk all of us for several innings.
While we were off to ride on Tuesday, she said she was off with her mom and Girl Scout Troop to an amusement park near Pittsburg.
This is the second time she sang The National Anthem and the first time her picture was taken – I couldn’t believe that. She is an awesome girl!

Just before we entered into NY, there was this creek along the road. These creeks flow over slate like rock – pretty cool.

Before we knew it today, we clicked off another state on our CCC.
The Rocket, T4, me, Arlene, and Jay crossed over together, and then got moving again.

Of course, before we could get moving, The Rocket had to eat a Cliff Bar – he hadn’t eaten on at least 10 minutes at this point.
The Rocket scares people a bit, and you will notice most people and terminators leaving their helmets ON when near The Rocket.

Just at the PA / NY line, is the Lakeside Stateline Golf Course, complete with vineyards along the fairway.
Nice place this.

We spend a good portion of the day on Route 5, and had many views of great houses, vineyards, and Lake Erie, and in some cases like this, all three at once.

10 miles into New Your on Route 5, we stopped at Daniel Reed Memorial Peer.
I know a Daniel Reed – one of my many snowmobile friends!
Hi Daniel – and Jason, Kelsey, Shelby, Katie, Amy, Lindsay, Bethany, Michael, and Meagan!!

Lake Erie offered many wonderful views, like this sandy beach.

And these cliffs.

And this vastness.
